UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA PHARMACY INTERVENTION FUND (UNNPIF)
The Need
The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Nigeria Nsukka is in great distress, very big distress, arising from several years of abandonment and neglect. Laboratory instruments/equipment and reagents are lacking, basic administrative resources are not available, lecture halls and staff offices are deplorable, funds are not there as Heads and Deans almost run their units with personal funds. In the very words of the recent Pharmacists’ Council of Nigeria (PCN) Fact-finding Team to the Faculty, ‘We have heard so much about the decay (infrastructural etc) in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UNN. PCN was at the verge of closing down the Faculty and re-distributing her students to other nearby schools, but were told to first of all find out the exact situation.
We are here now, and what we are seeing is indeed, by far, more grievous and alarming than what we heard’.My dear cherished Alumnus, the above picture painted by the PCN Team is indeed very accurate
